About Ravalli County Habitat for Humanity

Ravalli County HFH is a locally run affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International, a nonprofit, ecumenical Christian housing organization.
Our mission is to build simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with those in need. Habitat for Humanity sells houses to families at no profit, through interest-free loans. Our purpose also includes education and comunity building.
The years have been good for Habitat for Humanity of Ravalli County, Ravalli County and to Ravalli County Families. We have been active in the valley for over 10 years and have helped 5 families build and purchase homes of their own in Hamilton, Corvallis and Darby. We completed our fifth home in the spring of 2011 and have recently purchased land in Stevensville for our sixth home.
Volunteers provide most of the labor, and individual and corporate donors provide money and materials to build Habitat houses. Partner families themselves invest hundreds of hours of labor - "sweat equity" - into building their homes and the homes of others. Their mortgage payments go into a revolving Fund for Humanity that is used to build more houses.
Given the demonstrated need in our area, it is more important now than ever to provide affordable housing in Ravalli County and we depend on the generous support of our local community in order to do so. One of our critical and on going goals is to continue to nurture a broad base of diverse volunteers. Please consider sharing your talents on one of our committees. We need you to get involved!
